10/4/09 - Aunt Martha on iTunes

Aunt Martha just released their first album, Candymaker (I did the cover art). It's now on iTunes. Check it out! Their music is great!

The album will also be available soon on Amazon.com

9/29/09 - The Town Where There Were No Graves

I'm excited about how The Bloody Pulp is turning out. I thought I'd show off the first panel.

9/25/09 - The Bloody Pulp (after a long hiatus)

After about two years on the back burner, I just re-started The Bloody Pulp, a graphic novel of short stories written by Alex Kriss. The first story, The Town Where There Were No Graves seems to have aged well in the interim, and I think it should prove to be a much better piece of work now than it ever would have been 2 years ago. Also, It's a nice experiment to see how much I've improved since I'm tackling the very same project I attempted before.

9/25/09 - Digital Painting

I just learned a new digital painting technique...which, incidentally is just one of the basic Photoshop preset brushes that for some reason I never tried. My friend Anca opened my eyes to this wonderful tool. I was so excited about the new discovery that I gave it a whirl for about 45 minutes around 2:30 am last night. Here's what I came up with:

7/22/09: Candymaker

Just finished an album cover for Aunt Martha, an awesome new band out of Brooklyn. They're going on a small Northeastern tour in August. They just might be in your city. Check them out HERE.

7/10/09: Blood Trail Hits the Internet

Last year I worked with the team at Nathan Love to help create Blood Trail, a terrifyingly gruesome animated horror short. Not too long ago we were finally allowed to show it to the world, and last week Motionographer posted an article about Blood Trail. My work at Nathan Love is always behind the scenes, but an exciting part for me was that my character designs and a couple of my style frames were posted as a way to help describe how the piece was created (also I got to use a little of my After Effects knowledge to create the title shot at the end of the piece). Take a look at...

But beware. It is not for the faint hearted...

6/29/09: Illustration Academy

Just got back from the Illustration Academy Lecture Week at Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. While I was there I heard some wonderfully inspiring talks by illustration greats: Sterling Hundley, Sam Weber, Gillian Tamaki, Mark English, George Pratt, Anita Kunz, C.F. Payne, Robert Meganck, Jon Foster, Gary Kelley, Barron Storey, Francis Livingston. I also did some sketching.

5/13/09: Sketchbook

Some recent doodles from my sketchbook. Not much to say. They're all stream of consciousness...whatever came to mind at the time. I use my sketchbook to warm up before I start working.

5/7/09: Nathan T-Shirts

Just wrapped up some new t-shirt designs for Nathan Love. They should be available soon on the Nathan Love website.

5/2/09: Uncle Re-do

A while ago I did about 10 illustrations in two days for my friends at Uncle Magazine. I finished them all, but I didn't have enough time to get them to a point I was happy with. I decided to re-do one of my illustrations for Uncle that I thought was a particularly strong concept.
